MMS has a passion to help anyone translate their feelings, thoughts and behaviours into positive actions.

It launched by sharing the founder’s personal mental trauma with terminal brain cancer. MMS has grown organically into running bespoke wellbeing programmes.. The services are all focused to match your needs and focus on mental health and wellbeing.

The MMS services include: Research, Talks/Workshops, Webinars, Podcasts & MHFA England training.

The founders story: terminal cancer and passion to give back

Melville Mental Solutions (MMS) was founded by Patrick (Paddy) Melville in 2018 after experiencing a life changing mental health experience.  Patrick was suddenly diagnosed with terminal stage 4 brain cancer. He had to find his own resilience and ways to cope with this trauma.

In March 2019, his oncologist, Paul Mulholland, told him the amazing news that he was in remission.

Patrick started sharing his inspiring story and found massive interest which led him to launch Melville Mental Solutions. He has since become a mental health expert and MHFA England instructor working with all types of organisations, and minds.

He uses his passion to give back also as trained christian lay preacher. He runs services in his local benefice both in and outside the churches for all ages.

“Having had some wonderful chats with Patrick in the run up to Carfest it was no surprise to us that he turned up and was the ultimate professional and so well received by our audience.

Patrick spoke so well and was extremely well prepared for his talk in our Inspiration Hub and very happy to engage in Q&As with the guests. We are very grateful for the time Patrick shared with us so generously at Carfest..”

Alice Collins,

Content and Team Manager, CarFest

“After being introduced to Patrick and then listening to his very personal story and how Mental Health is so important to our wellbeing, we asked Patrick to present to our colleagues. He hosted 2 sessions which covered “Mental Health and why we need to look after ourselves” and “How to manage certain situations and build your mental resilience”. They were incredibly inciteful and allowed us to broaden our knowledge and help, not just ourselves, but others. He made the sessions not only fun and engaging but lifted the stigma that so many associate with Mental Health. Well done and thank you Patrick”.

Patrick was hosting a mental health workshop within our team which can be a helpful way to increase awareness and promote positive mental health practices. Key takeaways from such a workshop were including strategies for managing stress, recognising and addressing symptoms of mental health conditions, practicing self-care, and seeking support when needed. By providing actionable tips and fostering a supportive environment, a mental health workshop can help team members prioritise their mental health and well-being. Thank you so much Patrick for your great workshop.
